National Historic Site & Haunted Hachioji Castle Ruins
This mountain castle was built by Hojo Ujiteru.
Maeda Toshiie and Uesugi Kagekatsu force joined the Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s operation
of east Japan conquest and attacked Hachioji Castle on June 23, 1590.
The Hojo warriors and the ladies fought bravely.
But, a double-crosser shut the escape hatch. The castle fell in one day.

Haunted Ruins of Main Palace. There was the ballroom.
The tombstone
The castle felt. Hojo warriors, ladies and children committed suicide by swords and threw themselves
in the waterfall of this river. Legend has it that the river was bloodstained for 3days and 3nights.

In the beginning of Edo era, the survived warriors joined in Nikko Fire Brigade.
It is said that they had been fighting fires bravely until the duty closes.
